Bijrani Forest Zone in Jim Corbett National Park

Bijrani Tourist Zone is a popular area within the spectacular Corbett Tiger Reserve, enriched with numerous floral and faunal species. Known for its wonderful landscape and tranquil ambiance, Bijrani is a favorite among visitors and rivals the famed Dhikala zone for tiger sightings.

Topography and Wildlife: Bijrani features a mix of dense Sal forests and open grasslands (chaurs). The zone is known for its picturesque landscape with plenty of waterholes and river streams. It boasts a rich population of Bengal tigers, leopards, elephants, black bears, and various species of deer and antelopes. It's also a paradise for bird watchers, with around 600 species of resident and migratory birds.

Accommodation:

  • Bijrani Forest Rest House: Offers six rooms and a dormitory. The compound has a restaurant and canteen.

  • Malani Forest Rest House: Located on the edge of the core zone, offering serene surroundings and popular among bird watchers. It has two rooms and is known for its peaceful ambiance.

Safari Experience: Bijrani zone is ideal for wildlife enthusiasts and offers morning and evening safaris. The entry is through Aamdanda Gate, and only a limited number of vehicles are allowed at a time to preserve the habitat.

Facilities:

  • The compound has its own restaurant and canteen, serving a variety of buffet meals at affordable prices.

  • Elephant rides into the jungle are also available from the Bijrani rest house.

Attractions:

  • Chaurs (Grasslands): The Machaan Chaur, Badhai Chaur, and Ringora Chaur add to the attraction of the forests.

  • Flora & Fauna: The serene forest vegetation, mainly Sal along with chaurs, provides a tranquil atmosphere.

  • Wildlife Sightings: High chances of spotting tigers, wild elephants, sloth bears, and various bird species.

Night Stay: The Bijrani and Malani Forest Rest Houses provide a comfortable and peaceful stay, perfect for exploring the wildlife and enjoying bird watching.
